A shield or skid plate bolts over the converter so a thief can't cut it out in a minute. Pair it with a Compustar alarm and a tilt sensor, and the alarm goes off when someone jacks the car up. We check what fits your vehicle first.

01How much does catalytic converter replacement cost?
Every job is quoted, because the price depends on the vehicle, the part it needs and how much of the exhaust is involved. Send your year, make and model and what happened, and the shop quotes the part and the labor together.
02My catalytic converter was stolen. Can you work with my insurance?
Tell us it's a theft claim when you reach out, and we'll talk through how it works with your insurer. On one customer's Ford Raptor, we pushed back until the right replacement parts were approved.
03Do you install catalytic converter shields?
Yes. A shield or skid plate covers the converter and makes it much slower to steal. Many customers add one in the same visit as the replacement.
04Will an alarm stop catalytic converter theft?
An alarm with a tilt sensor goes off when someone lifts the car to get under it, which is how most cats get cut. We're a Compustar PRO Dealer, and we can fit one in the same visit.
05Do you come to me?
No. All work happens at our shop at 5640 Kearny Mesa Rd, Unit B. If the car still drives, bring it in. Call first and we'll tell you what to expect.
